History

1992-1993 

 Two organizations were founded in Latvia:

• Copyright and Communications Consulting Agency (AKKA)

• Latvian Copyright Agency (LAA). 

October 4, 1995

Both organizations merged into a NGO AKKA/LAA.

1996

AKKA/LAA joins the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC).

September 21, 1999

Authors established the society "Authors' Union of Latvia" (LAA) - the only participant and owner of the core capital of AKKA/LAA. 

 December 30, 2004

The society AKKA/LAA is registered as the society "The Communications and Consulting Agency/ Authors' Union of Latvia".
